Andrew Williams Named Fasig-Tipton Australasian Representative

Australian bloodstock agent Andrew Williams has been named Fasig-Tipton’s representative in Australia and New Zealand, beginning immediately.

“It is a privilege to now be associated with such a prestigious company like Fasig-Tipton, a company for which I have always had the utmost respect,” said Williams.  “I look forward to promoting the Fasig-Tipton brand in Australia and New Zealand, as well as assisting Australasian clients at Saratoga in August and at the November Breeding Stock Sale in Lexington.”

A native of Waikato, New Zealand, Williams recently launched his own bloodstock agency, Andrew Williams Bloodstock.  Prior to the establishment of his own agency, Williams spent four years in bloodstock and sales at noted Australian farm Arrowfield Stud, where he was heavily involved selling yearlings and nominations in some of Australia’s most important stallions.

Prior to Arrowfield, Williams spent five years working in stallion season sales for Darley America in Kentucky, where he gained intimate knowledge of the North American Thoroughbred industry, and its participants.

“We are pleased to welcome Andy to the Fasig-Tipton team,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning.  “With his experience and knowledge of both the Australasian and North American markets, he is a natural fit to represent Fasig-Tipton in such an important and vibrant region of the Thoroughbred world.”

Andrew Williams may be contacted at andrew@andrewwilliamsbloodstock.com.

Fasig-Tipton to Conduct The Turf Showcase on September 10

Fasig-Tipton is adding a new selected yearling sale to its auction calendar in 2017.

The Turf Showcase, a sale consisting of yearlings suited for the turf, will be conducted Sunday, September 10 at Fasig-Tipton’s Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, Kentucky.

“This is an exciting addition to the sales calendar for Fasig-Tipton, and provides a great opportunity for buyers from around the globe to shop for yearlings with turf appeal,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning.  “The performance of American-bred horses at Royal Ascot last year clearly demonstrated the quality of turf performers bred and raised in the United States.”

“In addition, more than 40% of 2017 graded stakes races in the United States will be turf races, and we are seeing North American racing and breeding programs investing in high class grass performers at an increasing rate,” continued Browning.  “The Turf Showcase will offer a concentration of quality yearlings in a single session, and should interest buyers from both North America and abroad.”

All yearlings under consideration for The Turf Showcase will be approved on pedigree and physical conformation by Fasig-Tipton.  Nomination forms are now available online at fasigtipton.com.

Fasig-Tipton has recently begun yearling inspections for its July, Saratoga and New York Bred sales, and will conduct inspections for The Turf Showcase in conjunction with those visits.

Catalogue Now Available for The Gulfstream Sale

gulfstream_sale_cover_front_FINAL.pngFasig-Tipton has catalogued 162 entries for The Gulfstream Sale of Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training, to be held on Wednesday, March 1, in Hallandale Beach, Florida. The sale, which be conducted in Gulfstream Park’s walking ring, will begin at 4 pm.

The under tack show is scheduled for Monday, February 27, beginning at 10 am.

“This sale has a lot of momentum coming off two highly successful renewals since moving to Gulfstream Park in 2015,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning.  “This catalogue reflects that momentum, with increased numbers and outstanding quality.”

This year’s catalogue cover features 2015 sale graduate NYQUIST, who decisively captured last year’s G1 Kentucky Derby to become the latest Classic success for The Gulfstream Sale.

“There is no better advertisement for a sale than selling the Kentucky Derby winner,” continued Browning. “It’s a great testament to the quality of horses our consignors offer at Gulfstream, and to the success that buyers are finding from purchasing these horses off a proven dirt track.  Prior to winning the Kentucky Derby, NYQUIST won the G1 Florida Derby at Gulfstream – thirteen months after he had performed over the very same racetrack in our under tack show.”

The catalogue is now available online and will also be available via the Equineline sales catalogue app. Print catalogues will be available by Monday, January 30.
