First Group of Supplemental Entries Added to The November Sale

Fasig-Tipton has added an initial six supplemental entries to the catalogue for the 2017 November Sale to be held on Monday, November 6 in Lexington, Kentucky.  These supplemental entries are catalogued as hips 193-198:

  • BRAHMS CAT (Hip 193): Graded stakes placed and multiple stakes placed daughter of WILDCAT HEIR. Finished third in this year’s G2 Forward Gal S. to G1 winner PRETTY CITY DANCER and multiple graded stakes winner TEQUILITA.  Her 2nd and 3rd dams are both stakes winners and stakes producers.  Consigned as a racing/broodmare prospect by Paramount Sales, agent.
  • ONE TRUE KISS (Hip 194): Multiple graded stakes placed at two and three, including a third place finish in Sorrento S. (G2) to G1 winner GOMO and multiple graded stakes winner PRETTY N COOL.  Family of G1 winners GIRVIN and YES IT’S TRUE. Consigned as racing/broodmare prospect by Darby Dan Farm, agent.
  • SHEHADMEFROMHELLO (Hip 195): Daughter of Empire Maker is the dam of SEPARATIONOFPOWERS, 3 ½ length winner of Frizette S. (G1) on October 8. A 100% winner-producer, she is offered in foal to successful young sire KANTHAROS. Consigned by Bluewater Sales, agent.
  • QUIDURA (Hip 196): Daughter of elite sire DUBAWI won Canadian S. (G2) in her most recent start, and is also twice G1 placed in 2017.  Multiple graded stakes winner of nearly $500,000 hails from an exclusive German family.  A four-time winner who has never been worse than third in 7 of 8 career starts, she is entered in this Sunday’s E.P.   • MORETHANJUSTHELLO (Hip 198): Four-year-old daughter of MORE THAN READY is a half-sister to the impressive recent Frizette S. (G1) winner SEPARATIONOFPOWERS.  A multiple winner on the New York circuit of nearly $125,000, she is being offered as a broodmare prospect by South Point Sales Agency, Agent.

The ‘Stars’ Align at The November Sale

NovemberSale_cover_FINALFasig-Tipton has catalogued 192 entries for The November Sale, the company’s selected mixed sale to be held in Lexington, Kentucky on Monday, November 6.  The single-session sale will begin at 4 pm.

“This is an outstanding catalogue from top to bottom – there is depth, diversity, and quality,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning.

“The evening will begin with 81 selected weanlings – the strongest group of foals we have put together in many years – and then move into a top rung collection of racing stars and high class broodmares,” Browning continued.  “In total, this year’s catalogue features 50 graded stakes winners or producers, 22 of which are Grade 1, three Eclipse Champions and four Breeders’ Cup winners.  Nearly eighty percent of the racing/broodmare prospects and broodmares catalogued are black type earners or producers.”

The catalogue may now be viewed online, including Fasig-Tipton’s unique Enhanced Catalogue.

The Enhanced Catalogue provides continuously updated catalogue pages, Daily Racing Form past performances, and race replays; an Alan Porter pedigree analysis for all racing/broodmare prospects and broodmares; as well as photos, statistics, and other resources.  Additionally, all Grade 1 winning females off the racetrack or carrying their first foals are profiled with individual feature videos.

Print catalogues will be available beginning October 17.  The catalogue will also be available via the Equineline sales catalogue app.

The November Sale will also offer a supplemental catalogue once again.  Fasig-Tipton will accept selected entries for the supplement through the Breeders’ Cup.

Catalogue for The October Sale Now Online

OctoberSaleCoverAngledFasig-Tipton has catalogued 1,459 yearlings for The October Sale, to be held on October 23-26 in Lexington, Kentucky. The four continuous sessions, conducted on Monday-Thursday, will begin each day at 10 am.

“Both buyers and sellers have had tremendous success at October in recent years, generating a catalogue that is 16% larger in 2017,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “We have good quality across the board, and the sire power has ticked upwards once again as well. Every active sire currently ranked in the Top 20 on the general sire list is represented in this catalogue.”

“Our sales graduates are flying,” continued Browning. “Led by recent Grade 1 winners Girvin, Mor Spirit, and Annals of Time, October grads have notched more than 90 stakes wins in the last 12 months.”

Catalogue for The Saratoga Fall Sale Now Online

sfs17-miFasig-Tipton has catalogued 298 entries for The Saratoga Fall Sale, the company’s mixed sale to be held on Monday, October 16 in Saratoga Springs, New York.  The sale will be conducted in the Humphrey S. Finney Pavilion and begin at 10 am.

Hips 1-90 will consist of broodmares and racing and/or broodmare prospects; hips 91-280 are weanlings; and hips 281-298 are all yearlings.

“We have good quality in this year’s catalogue,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning.  “There are a number of mares in foal to leading national and regional sires that should draw significant interest.  Additionally, this sale has developed into an excellent weanling market – we have nearly 190 weanlings catalogued this year – and the sire power is very good.”

Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale to Be Held Florida Derby Week in 2018

Fasig-Tipton has established the sale date for its 2018 Gulfstream Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale in Hallandale Beach, Florida.  The sale will be held on Wednesday, March 28 in the lead up to Gulfstream Park’s Grade 1 Florida Derby on Saturday, March 31.  The Under Tack Show will be conducted on Monday, March 26.

“Moving our 2018 Gulfstream Sale three weeks later allows us to be a part of the excitement of Florida Derby week,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning.  “Positioning the sale around the Florida Derby should bring the auction added exposure, and the timing should work well for both buyers and sellers.”

Midlantic Fall Yearlings Catalogue Now Online

MidlanticFallCoverAngledThe catalogue for Fasig-Tipton’s Midlantic Fall Yearlings Sale is now available online and via the equineline sales catalogue app.

The sale will be held at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland on Monday and Tuesday, October 2 and 3.  The Monday session will begin at 4 pm and offer hips 1-150.  The Tuesday session will begin at 10 am and offer hips 151-495.

“This is a sale that all serious yearling buyers need to attend,” said Midlantic Director of Sales Paget Bennett.  “We have a catalogue that is 32% larger than last year, strong sire power, and yearlings that are eligible for every major Midlantic state-bred program.”

“Our sale graduates continue to perform at high levels, led by this year’s cover horse STELLAR WIND,” continued Bennett.  “The sale is also a top ranked North American yearling sale by percentage of winners, two-year-old winners, and repeat winners.”

The October Sale Expanded to Four Days

As a result of a high volume of entries, Fasig-Tipton will add a day to this year’s Kentucky October Yearling Sale in Lexington.  The sale will now be held over four days – Monday through Thursday, October 23-26.  The sale was originally scheduled over three days, Monday through Wednesday.

“Successful results in the sales ring and on the racetrack have generated a significant increase in entries for this year’s October Sale, prompting us to add a fourth session on Thursday, October 26,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning.  “We’re pleased with the interest consignors have shown in the sale, and we look forward to an outstanding four-day run of selling in late October.”

Sessions will begin daily at 10 am.  The catalogue will be available in late September.

Midlantic Fall Yearlings Sale Expanded to Two Days

Fasig-Tipton has expanded its Midlantic Fall Yearlings Sale to two days as a result of a high volume of entries.  The sale, originally scheduled for Tuesday, October 3, will now be held over two days – Monday, October 2 and Tuesday, October 3.  The catalogue will consist of 495 entries.

The Monday session will begin at 4 pm and offer hips 1-150.  The Tuesday session will begin at 10 am and offer hips 151-495.

“As a result of a fantastic sale last year and the success of recent sales graduates like Stellar Wind, this year’s catalogue has grown by 32% over last year,” said Midlantic Sales Director Paget Bennett.  “By adding the extra session to Monday afternoon, buyers and sellers will be able to conduct their business without having to alter their travel arrangements.”

The catalogue will be available online later this week.

Eclipse Champion Finest City to be offered at Fasig-Tipton November Sale

FINEST CITY, 2016 Eclipse Champion Female Sprinter, will be offered at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale on November 6 in Lexington, Kentucky.  She will be consigned by trainer Ian Steele Kruljac on behalf of owner Seltzer Thoroughbreds.

FINEST CITY defeated seven G1 winners, including defending champion WAVELL AVENUE and PAULASSILVERLINING, in the 2016 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint on her way to Eclipse Award honors.  The multiple graded stakes winner and millionaire also established a new track record for 6 ½ furlongs in winning the 2016 Great Lady M Stakes (G2) at Los Alamitos.

“Finest City has been a dream to care for,” said Kruljac. “Her brilliance, durability, versatility and personality have given us a lifetime of memories.  She has battled the best mares of her generation on any surface and at any distance.”

A versatile and consistent performer at the highest levels, FINEST CITY has earned black type in 10 graded stakes races at four different race tracks.  A multiple graded stakes winner at 6 ½ and 7 furlongs on dirt, FINEST CITY is also multiple G1 placed on dirt at distances ranging from 1 mile to 1 1/8 miles.  She was also beaten just a head in last year’s John C. Mabee S. (G2) on turf.

A five-year-old daughter of City Zip, FINEST CITY is out of the multiple stakes performer Be Envied, who is also a multiple stakes producer.  Her deep female family includes grade 1 winning two-year-olds BURNING ROMA and SQUANDER.

FINEST CITY will make her final start in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) at Del Mar, where she will defend her title.

171 Yearlings Catalogued for Inaugural Turf Showcase, Presented by Woodbine Racetrack

turf17-mi.pngFasig-Tipton has catalogued 171 selected yearlings for the inaugural edition of The Turf Showcase, Presented by Woodbine Racetrack.  The sale will be held on Sunday, September 10 beginning at 4 pm at Fasig-Tipton’s Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Turf Showcase, Presented by Woodbine Racetrack, is the first North American sale consisting entirely of yearlings with “turf appeal.”  All yearlings catalogued have been approved on both conformation and pedigree by Fasig-Tipton.

“We are very pleased with the quality of this catalogue for the inaugural sale,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning.  “These yearlings have sire power, depth of pedigree, and physical conformation that will appeal to a broad range of domestic and international buyers.”
