Hip 574 Alter Moon ($675,000)

Alter Moon, a three-year-old stakes winning filly by Alternation sold for $675,000 late at the July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale. The bay filly was purchased by Steven W. Young, agent from the consignment of Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent.

This filly was a stakes winner last time out, winning the Azalea S. by five lengths at Gulfstream Park on June 30. In her previous start she won by daylight in an allowance at that same track, trouncing the field by nearly 15 lengths. Alter Moon was previously campaigned by owner JAL Racing and trainer Jose Valez. She has a record of 3-2-0 in seven careers starts and earnings of $128,255 to date.

Hip 556 Okinawa ($200,000)

Okinawa, a four-year-old winning daughter of The Factor sold for $200,000 at the July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale. The gray or roan filly was purchased by Nathan McCauley for Abbondanza Racing from the consignment of Claiborne Farm, agent.

 

This filly is a two-time winner who set a new course record at Aqueduct in April when she covered six furlongs in 1:07.91 on her way to a two-length victory. She was previously campaigned by owner Bass Stable and trainer Chad Brown. She has a record of 2-1-0 in six starts with earnings of $85,732 to date.

Revved Up, a five-year-old multiple graded stakes placed winner by Candy Ride (ARG) sold for $350,000 at the July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale. The bay horse was purchased by Empire Thoroughbreds, agent for Kingsport Farm from the consignment of Claiborne Farm, agent.

 

This horse is a four-time winner who was third in the River City H. (G3) last year and most recently second just half a length to multiple Grade 1 winner Divisidero in the Arlington H. (G3) on July 7. He was previously campaigned by breeder Phipps Stable and Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey. Revved Up has a record of 4-3-3 from 22 starts and earnings of $311,117 to date.

From the exceptional Phipps breeding program, Revved Up is one out three winners out of champion Storm Flag Flying, a four-time Grade 1 winner by Storm Cat. Storm Flag Flying is a daughter of four-time Grade 1 winner from the immediate family of champion Personal Ensign and Grade 1 winning millionaire Personal Flag.

One Liner, a four-year-old graded stakes winning son of Into Mischief sold for $400,000 at the July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale. The bay colt was purchased by Whispering Oaks from the consignment of WinStar Racing, agent.

 

This colt was a winner at two, and followed up with a pair of wins to open his sophomore campaign, including a 3 1/2 length victory in the Southwest S. (G3) at Oaklawn Park, where he beat subsequent Kentucky Derby (G1) runner up Lookin At Lee by nearly 12 lengths. He is a winner in 2018 and placed second in the Pimlico Special S. (G3) earlier this season. One Liner was previously campaigned by WinStar Farm, China Horse Club, SF Racing, and Head of Plains Partners and trainer Todd Pletcher. He is from the immediate family of G1 winners Albertus Maximus and Daredevil.

My Miss Tapit, a four-year-old stakes winning filly by Tapit sold for $700,000 to soar into the lead at the July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale. The chestnut filly was purchased by Breeze Easy from the consignment of ELiTE, agent.

 

My Miss Tapit won her maiden last spring at Gulfstream Park, and followed up that performance with a win in the Game Face S. at that track over Actress, next out winner of the Black-Eyed Susan S. (G2). This filly was most recently third in the Princess Rooney S. (G2) on June 30. She was previously campaigned by owner Mathis Stable and trainer Todd Pletcher. She has record of 3-0-1 from six career starts and earnings of $132,255 to date.

This filly is one of five winners and three stakes horses out of the graded stakes winning Broken Vow mare Sindy With an S from the immediate family of two-time champion and Grade 1 winner Ashado.

Lady Lucy, a two-year-old winning daughter of Into Mischief sold for $200,000 at the July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale. The bay filly was purchased by Tom McCrocklin, agent from the consignment of ELiTE, agent.

 

Lady Lucy broke her maiden going wire-to-wire on June 15 at Churchill Downs. She was previously campaigned by owner Bernard Schaeffer and trainer William Connelly. She has a record of 1-0-0 in two starts with earnings of $32,010 to date.

Fire Away, a six-year-old graded stakes winning horse by War Front sold for $450,000 to take the lead midway through the July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale. The bay horse was purchased by Joseph Brocklebank, agent for Form Bloodstock from the consignment of Claiborne Farm, agent.

 

This horse won the Dixie S. (G3) at Pimlico on the Preakness undercard, his third stakes win. He also captured the 2017 Artie Schiller S. and 2018 Danger’s Hour S. at Aqueduct and was third in the Tampa Bay S. (G3) at Tampa Bay in February. He was previously campaigned by breeder Phipps Stable and Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey. Fire Away has a record of 7-4-4 in 23 starts with earnings of $613,397 to date. A product of the esteemed Phipps breeding program, this horse is a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Mr. Speaker from the immediate family of champions Personal Ensign and Storm Flag Flying and Grade 1 winners My Flag and Traditionally.

Factorofone, a three-year-old stakes winner by The Factor sold for $400,000 midway through the July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale. The gray or roan filly was purchased by Everett Dobson/Cheyenne Stable from the consignment of Warrendale Sales, agent.

 

This filly broke her maiden last October at Santa Anita by more than three lengths, and became a stakes winner at that same track this May when she won the Black Pearl S. She was second this past weekend in the Stormy Blues S. at Laurel Park. She was previously campaigned by owner Red Baron’s Barn and trainer Phil Schoenthal. She has a record of 2-1-2 from five starts and earnings of $111,375 to date.

Blazen Betsy, a three-year-old winner by Speightstown sold for $325,000 early at the July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale. The bay filly was purchased by Green Lantern Stables from the consignment of ELiTE, agent.

 

This filly broke her maiden in early June by more than 13 lengths at Thistledown in an effort described as “much the best under a brisk hand ride.” Blazen Betsy was previously campaigned by Southern Comfort Stable and trainer William Cowans. Blazen Betsy has a record of 1-1-0 in two starts with earnings $18,000 to date.

 

Hip 402 Altamura ($205,000)

Altamura, a three-year-old stakes winning daughter of Artie Schiller, kicked off the 2018 July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale when sold for $205,000 as the first hip through the ring. The bay filly was purchased by Kempton Bloodstock, agent from the consignment of Brookdale Sales, agent.

 

Unraced at two, Altamura broke her maiden in mid-June and followed up that performance with a win in the M. Tyson Gilpin S., both victories at Laurel Park. This Virginia-bred filly was previous campaigned by owners Fred Seitz, Danny Ward, and John Stephens and trained by John Stephens. Altamura has a record of 2-0-0 in four starts with earnings of $68,750 to date.
