Today’s post features Champions and Breeders’ Cup winners Songbird, Tepin, Catch a Glimpse, and Finest City.
Songbird is a two-time champion by international sire Medaglia d’Oro, and his best progeny by lifetime earnings. She earned more than $4,600,000 in 15 starts, of which she won 13. She won nine Grade 1 stakes in her three-year career, and 12 graded stakes in total. After crushing her maiden special weight opponents by 6 ½ furlongs at first asking, the impressive Songbird raced exclusively in graded stakes company.

A two-time champion by Bernstein, Tepin is an exceptionally accomplished runner who was a graded stakes winner at two on the dirt and a multiple Grade/Group 1 winner on turf at four and five. With 13 wins in 23 starts, and an additional six placings, Tepin has won Grade or Group 1 events in three countries on two continents, defeating the best of her generation of both sexes. She earned more than $4,400,000 in a truly historical career. She is carrying her first foal, by Curlin.

Tepin is the first North American-based horse to win the Queen Anne S. (G1) at the prestigious Royal Ascot meet.

Catch a Glimpse is a three-time champion by the late City Zip. She is one of his four Breeders’ Cup Champions sired over the course of three years, putting her in the category with fellow champions Dayatthespa, World All Week, and Finest City. She has won eight of 15 starts and earned more than $1,800,000 to date.

Champion Finest City is five-year-old daughter of City Zip who, like Catch a Glimpse, is one of his impressive four Breeders’ Cup Champions over the course of 2014-2016. This iron mare has started 19 times to date, with at least five starts each year from age three through five, and has won or placed 15 times. Starting exclusively in graded stakes company since March of her four-year-old season, Finest City has earned over $1,200,000 and has not been off the board in 2017.
